Anthroposophy
Definition
Anthroposophy is a path to acquiring knowledge of the world and of the human being - self-knowledge. Many people today have fundamental questions or hunches about the how and why of existence.Where is humanity going and what is the role of the individual human being? Why do we live now, here, in this time? Is it all just a coincidence? Or are we part of a development with meaning and direction and each of us will have our own role there? Anthroposophy seeks possibilities to study questions of this nature and obtain answers through research, studies and (self) knowledge.
Self-knowledge and world knowledge
Anthroposophy comes from the Greek: anthropos and sophia: human being and wisdom.?A description of Anthroposophy could be:?“A path to acquire consciousness of the human being, in freedom and based on individual responsibility, through self-knowledge and knowledge of the world.”
Spiritual reality
Anthroposophy contemplates the world not only as a reality that can be explained through counting, touching and measuring, but as something complex, which has two aspects: the sensorial and the spiritual, which are however one.
Experience and research
Anthroposophy provides methods for experiencing and researching the spiritual side of our existence. However, it does not turn its back on the physical world, but rather addresses it. Only by truly living the earthly life can we penetrate it and connect to the spiritual core of existence.
Inner development
Anthroposophy offers possibilities to deepen life through inner development. It invites an openness to the spiritual world, keeping our feet firmly on the ground, so that, through a life committed to helping others and the world, we can develop our self.
